During the 1950s we would drive to Syracuse, NY to enjoy the shopping pleasures of the USA. There were things you just couldn't get in Canada when I was a little girl. In my memory, Ottawa, being so far north, was remote and cold. Syracuse was a retail paradise. Syracuse had an indoor mall.
